2017 Ram 1500

The base engine for the 2017 Ram 1500 is a 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine that produces 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The Sport, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited all come with a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that generates 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the HFE has a 3.0-liter turbo EcoDiesel engine that gets 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.

The Ram 1500 is one of the smoothest riding pickup trucks on the road when equipped with the optional air suspension. The base engine has plenty of power for most driving conditions, and it can tow up to 7,610 pounds. If you want the extra power and towing capacity, the V-8 is an excellent choice and will handle up to 10,640 pounds. The maximum payload for the V-6 is 1,890 pounds while the V-8 will hold 1,800 pounds.

The seats in the 1500 are comfortable with plenty of support to keep you happy even when spending a long day in the truck. The cabin features high-quality materials, and it comes with the latest technology including Bluetooth, an optional Wi-Fi hotspot, and smartphone app integration. The lower trims come standard with a five-inch touchscreen display, while the higher trims upgrade to an 8.4-inch touchscreen display with the Uconnect infotainment system. The cabin also has plenty of unique storage options including watertight storage compartments under the seat in the crew cab and a fold-out flat floor in the extended cab. The Ram 1500 also has the option for the RamBox storage system for the bed with locking compartments over the rear fenders.

All these trucks come standard with antilock disc brakes, hill start assist, and trailer-sway control. You can add a fully integrated trailer-brake controller if you need it, and a rearview camera along with both front and rear parking sensors are also available options. If you choose a model with the Uconnect Access system, you'll also get an emergency telematics system with a one touch connection to 911 and a stolen vehicle tracking system.
